How to get there by bus

Bus is the most popular mode of transfer among tourists to Perhentian Island. This is the cheapest and most convenience transportation mode to Kuala Besut Jetty and then to Perhentian Island. There are a few bus providers from cities and towns across Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore available on the route. Below are the popular locations where tourists start their journey from: –

From Kuala Lumpur  – To buy a bus ticket, click here

Option 1: Kuala Lumpur > Kuala Besut Jetty > Perhentian Island

Option 2: Kuala Lumpur > Kuala Terengganu or Kota Bharu > Jerteh > Kuala Besut Jetty > Perhentian Island

Option 1: From Kuala Lumpur, choose any buses straight to Kuala Besut Jetty. This is the best option and it takes about 8 hr traveling from Kuala Lumpur. A few bus providers operate on this route. Option 2: Is suggested, if there is no direct bus service from your location to Kuala Besut Jetty. Please take note; the bus just passes by the Jerteh town and not stopping at Jerteh bus station. Therefore, please ask the bus driver to stop in Jerteh town, at the drop off point that closest to the Jerteh station. One of the bus operators on this route is Transnasional. Then walk to taxi station. Take a taxi, about 20 min trip to Kuala Besut Jetty.

Singapore > Jerteh > Kuala Besut Jetty > Perhentian Island

From Singapore, choose any buses to Kota Bharu. It is about 10 h traveling to Jerteh via east cost of peninsular route from Singapore. There are a few bus operators operate on the route this route including Transnasional. To check and buy your bus ticket online – click here

Please take note; the bus just passes by the Jerteh town on it way to Kota Bharu and not stopping at Jerteh bus station. From Penang

Option 1: Penang > Kuala Besut Jetty > Perhentian Island

Option 2: Penang > Jerteh > Kuala Besut Jetty > Perhentian Island

If you choose option 2, you need to take a taxi to Kuala Besut Jetty, with estimated 20 min journey.

 

From Kota Bharu
